4 More Sleeps Til Christmas!

Now for those of your in another part of the world, no snow....no cold....eggnog not a big thing... we don't need things to keep us warm it is SUMMER!! We have icy cold drinks... and kids running around under hoses eating zooper dupers! (um ice blocks).  But we still have kids getting up at stupid o'clock jumping on parents screaming "SANTA CAME SANTA CAME" with parents smiling and dragging their sorry butts out of bed!

Christmas is my all most absolute favourite time of the year.. I love the decorations, the hype, the food, the songs, the get togethers.. And check my temp, but I LOVE picking out Christmas pressies, whether they are shop bought or hand made.  I love thinking about the person I am choosing for and trying to pick something that they would love.  I try not to do it in a mad rush, but there is always one that I miss and have to run about for like a headless chicken... I think I did ok this year.  Still a few days for me to remember that one that I have possibly forgotten.. I will not get sidetracked from my blog and write a list lol.... maybe after...

Now as I am in full Christmas mode, playing and cooking and hanging out with my daughter... (who as I type here is riding her bike up and down the driveway waiting very not patiently as I promised we would make White Christmas with her)

It was a little bit like an early Christmas for me this week, a parcel arrived from Ixchebunny.  It was chocker full of Cashmere Flings!!! I LOVE CASHMERE FLING...made up of Cashmere 5% Tencel 40% Glitz 40% Bamboo 15%, it is the softest most delicious thing you have ever felt..  At the shows, I would just pass one of these to a bored looking husband... and their eyes would light up, and they would be in... looking through things, making suggestions to their spinning partners...it was so wonderful to see.... I  think it could possibly be my  favourite of the Ixchel Blends.

As this is the Last Blog before Christmas I thought I should have a special Christmas treat for you.  I have here at Fiberific the Last of the cashmere fling... IN THE WORLD... I am not kidding... Not even Ixchelbunny herself has any.  There will be not be any more available until 2013 and when the blend does come through, it will be at a new price... unfortunately even fibres get hit with inflation.

Cashmere Fling
100g $24 plus postage.

I have limited numbers of each!

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas....Aussie Style at least

Abbie was queen of the Tree this year, all decorations chosen by her! Don't you think she did a great job.. She is keen for some pressies to go under the tree, I wonder why that would be!

Christmas is nearly here! And I am excited! I love this time of year, the sun is shining, thunderstorms in the afternoons to cool things down.  There is nothing quite like Lightening to show you how little power you really have over the world.  Anyway way to get distracted!

Now while I can't tell you what I am currently working on, it is a secret squirrel thing, I can tell you, I have been using the most spectacular cotton that I have ever used.  I know this is a big call, but seriously it is gorgeous, it is not splitty and it comes in the most amazing colour choices both variegated and solid. Honestly, what more can you ask for!

It is from Omega and is called Dalia. 100g/370m
100% Mercerised Cotton.
If you want to get your hands on some, check out Jenny King Designs they have it in stock!!

There and Back again....Not a Hobbits story.

What a day, what a wonderful day.  I had a little sleep in until about 7.30ish..... believe me with our little person, that is a sleep in of sorts... Then up and off for a road trip!

We went to Jenny King Designs... about 1 hr and 45 mins from our place, it was raining and the traffic rolled... turned out trip into more like 2 and 30 mins.. but it was worth it!!

I realised I have no photo's! Jenny had so much show and tell for me, she has so many gorgeous patterns on the go, I don't know how she does it!!!  So much trying on by all of us girls including my little Abbie!! And just about every customer who came through the door also got to try on the new patterns! It was so much fun.  I think that what made it even more fun for me was not having a timer on... On a regular day, I drop Abbie at school hit the road by about 8.30 get up to Jenny's by about 10.15, hang out until about 12.30ish and then head home and pray for a good run in the traffic to get back to pick Abbie up at 3pm.  But Abbie is on Holidays!!! Sweeeeeeeeet! Jenny eventually got rid of us at 6pm, we got home at about 7.45 and now Abbie is bed, Hubby is watching telly and I am here writing.

It has been pretty hot here this week... at least hotter than I like it anyway.  So I have not been as productive as I would have liked... I have also been spending some time with Miss Abbie doing fun things... as she has just had her First week of School holidays!

While I was out and about today, I got carded by Australia Post! So Tomorrow I am off to the post office to pick up a parcel, it is my next ChiaoGoo Order. I can't wait! I have a few things to post out tomorrow too! Which is also very exciting, a swap pressie for one of the Namaste Farm Rav Group Girls, will have something special boarding a plane very soon!   I am not posting a pic, because it needs to be a surprise!

The plans for this week coming include going to the post office and picking up the ChiaoGoo parcel full of knitting and crochet goodies

Playing with my Abbie making friendship Bracelets.

Oh and working out what I want to put in my first Nancy's Knit Knack order, if you have anything that you would like to have a go of let me know, so far I think there may be an Handy Andy Plying tool

some Dpn Wip Tubes

and maybe even a yarn meter or 2...

Let me know what you would like to see in the next delivery box!!!

Have a great week, try to keep cool!
